Memorial Day

Yep, a little behind on blogging - what else is new.  Memorial Day was chilly & drizzly. But we put up the flag (I found some Sousa marches to play while they did it :)). I fixed Grace's hair in a star (found on Pinterest here), I went to the American Legion Memorial ceremony at the FJ Cemetery, on Sunday we took flowers to all the family graves in the FJ Cemetery (and there are a lot) plus put extra flowers on some of the unknown graves. Saturday the kids and I had put flowers on the family graves in the Etna Cemetery.

Cute little girl!!! She's wearing a poncho that her Great Grandma Donna knit for me a long time ago

American Legion Ceremony - usually my dad is one of the shooters, but they were in Utah this year

This is by the flag pole...this year I thought about how interesting it was that it was erected in honor of the soldiers "burried" there - and this was before the World Wars
My Grandpa Elwood (left) and his older brother Garland - both WWII vets. They died 6 weeks apart in 1996 while I was on my mission.
