Not much happening lately...same old thing. We're all getting ready for Carrie's wedding that is in just a few days now! On the 21st we were able to go up to the Medford temple when she went for the first time. Brian & I had never been to that temple before...it's small...but beautiful.

Spring is coming...daffodils are starting to bloom and there are violets all over in the grass and flower beds both here and down at Grandma's.

Nathaniel and I are starting a little bit of preschool stuff. I'm starting a little earlier than I did with Joshua, but once school starts at the end of August and he turns 3, I'll be a little busy :) We're expecting a baby in mid-September, so that will but preschool on hold for a few weeks, I'm sure! So last week he did a fun art project. He likes anything that he can touch and feel, so we made a collage with a bunch of different kinds of beans (and a few scraps of paper). Joshua was disappointed that he'd missed out on something that looked so fun, but I told him he got to do fun stuff at school that Nathaniel missed out on, so I thought they were even.

St. Patty's Day and more...

The boys and I began Saint Patrick's Day on Saturday...Joshua requested green pancakes shaped like shamrocks. I knew I wouldn't have time to do it Tuesday morning, so I did them on Saturday. I only made one shamrock a piece, but made plenty of regular green pancakes that they enjoyed Tuesday (and other days this week.)

On Tuesday, Daddy used his leprechaun magic and made green milk! They thought that was pretty cool. Joshua has figured out the "magic" and wanted to explain it to Nathaniel, but we got him convinced to let Nathaniel be fascinated and if he doesn't figure it out next year, maybe then he can explain it.

Both boys wore green...here are our little leprechauns! (And they do have Irish blood on both sides, so they can proudly say, "Kiss me, I'm Irish!" though neither of them would!)

Joshua was hoping for rain and a rainbow on St. Patrick's Day so he could follow it to the end and find a leprechaun with his pot of gold. We had a rainbow...it was just on the 16th not the 17th. But a leprechaun did visit his classroom Tuesday morning. Besides making a mess of the room, the leprechaun left them a pot of gold. Joshua said it was better than real gold because it was actually chocolate!

And this is just Nathaniel and Daddy sitting at Grandma and Grandpa's computer getting ready to play a game. So cute!

Joshua's 1st Report

Last week, Joshua did his first oral report. His first grade class has been studying space. Joshua chose Pluto (even though technically it's not a planet anymore) for his. The reports were supposed to be brief and memorized. Joshua's consisted of three sentences: Pluto is the smallest planet. Pluto is the farthest planet from the Sun. Pluto is a ball of ice and rock. His teacher even had a microphone set up for them to use. Because we went to watch him, he got to go first. He had it memorized, but stumbled on the last line. He leaned toward his desk to read his paper and his teacher told him to go ahead and pick up his paper and redo his report. As he picked up his paper he said, "That's why I folded it and pointed it towards the front of the room...so that I could read it if I needed to." Great, already figuring how to cheat :) I did video his report, but for some reason it won't load on blogger...probably too big and I don't know how to adjust video. Anyway, he did great.
