Our baseball players...

I have taken pictures at the boys' games...but I haven't gotten around to posting any. And the season is over (yay!!!). Nathaniel enjoyed, for the most part, his first year of t-ball. I enjoyed the fact that it was very low-key and the kids had a lot of fun. He wasn't excited about having to wear a purple t-shirt, hat and socks, however.

This was Joshua's 3rd year in Little League and his second year as an Angel. He was a totally different player than last year and got at least one hit every game. At the beginning of May he even made the tie-breaking run and got cheered by his team and lifted up and just about mauled and he loved every second of it. His coach told him today, when he dropped off his pictures and a medal, that he had the most hits for the last three games and that he was the most improved player on the team. He has made the most growth of any of them. He also made the only run of their final game on Saturday. He truly has become a baseball player this year and it was a pleasure to watch.

Joshua's Guitar

Joshua took guitar in afterschool program last year and enjoyed it. He took it again this year and really enjoyed it and has been wanting a guitar ever since last year. So we made him a deal - if he earned half the money, we would pay the other half. So he has been doing chores and saving money for several monhts. Then, with birthday money from grandparents and great grandma, he had enough. So we went up to Oregon over the weekend and got it.  Yesterday Brian tuned it and Joshua played. He's just very basic yet, but it's more than I can do! He's looking forward to practicing over the summer so that he can play real songs soon!

Grace had to get in the fun too...she's sitting in Daddy's lap looking at the guitar book we got Joshua.

Okay...where did the last few months go?

We've had  a lot happening since I last posted...Nathaniel got his tonsils out, Brian got into the RN program, we moved, tball and little league started up, Joshua turned 10...yes, that's right, we moved. We found a trailer (small, but three bedroom and 2 bathrooms) that we could afford to rent right next door to the elementary school (and across the street from the grocery store, which is across another street from the library...and the post office is less than a block away...we're centrally located!) and have been living here just over a month. We're unpacked and mostly settled, but have to reorganize our storage unit since not everything will fit. I've had to relearn how to cook on a gas stove (only other time I did it was on my mission in Spain 15+ (gulp) years ago).  So eventually I'll get pictures up and posted of our so exciting life, but for now here are just a few pictures of the kids that I took in the spring for my parents to take down to my grandparents in Arizona.

Giant Pancakes

This morning I made the kids chocolate chip pancakes.

The other day when I made pancakes I made Joshua a big one since he is always wanting more & I was trying to get them moving for school.

Of course Nathaniel saw it & wanted one so I told him next time.

They were both pretty excited to get these huge pancakes. 

Joshua had no problem finishing it, plus scrambled eggs.

Nathaniel ate over half of his and some eggs & he was stuffed.

Grace didn't get a big one, but she was fine with that :) 

Making Pizzas...

Grace loves pizza.  It is pretty much the only food she will eat with any consistency.

Usually in layers...topping, cheese, and then crust with sauce.

But at least she eats it.

She doesn't like meat at all,

in any way I fix it really,

but if it's pepperoni on a pizza...

yep, she'll eat it.

(No such luck with ham though)

So one day she grabbed a bag of felt shapes off of my shelf,

and a bag of disposable nursing pads leftover from when I nursed her.

I had been going to throw them away, but never did, figuring I'd find some kind of use for them someday.

Well, Grace found a use for them.

She put a couple of shapes on one,

handed to me and grinned and said,

"Pizzie party!"

followed by her cute little,

"Tee hee!"

she likes to say when she's being silly.

So now, every few days,

she grabs her "pizzie" supplies

and makes pizza for us.

There can never be more than 3 shapes per pizza.

She gets mad if I try to put more on.

Three is actually pushing it, she prefers to only put two on.

She is so fun.

Geocaching...

Last Saturday afternoon, we decided to go geocaching.  We hadn't gone in quite a while. We decided to head out past Callahan where we hadn't gone before. I hadn't been to that "edge" of the Valley in probably 20 years. Brian and the kids had never been there. We found 2 of the 3 we were looking for. We'll go back and look for the other one another day when it's warmer and lighter (it was 5 pm).  Besides the two geocaches, we also found the spine to some kind of large animal. (I'm hoping it was an animal...I've been watching too much CSI and reruns of Cold Case, I think).  I didn't take a picture of that - should've.
The kids thought the "dinosaur" rocks were pretty neat. One of the geocaches was hidden behind the larger of the two "dinos". Another day, in the summer, we'll go further up Scott Mountain.
We had Joshua take a picture of us too...I think the camera added back the 10 pounds I've lost in the past two months...darn it. We really enjoy geocaching...it's fun time together, plus it gets us out and exploring where we live.

PJs from Great Grandma Donna & Great Grandpa Ken

When we got back from our trip down to Sacramento/Woodland/Winters/Davis Sunday evening, there were Christmas presents waiting from my grandparents in Arizona. The kids were excited to see the holiday extended and loved the new cozy flannel pajamas that Grandma Donna had sent them. When they wore them the next night I tried to get a cute picture of them all together in them...all the pictures turned out cute, but some...we'll they just show our munchkin's personalities!
